Dear Parent/Guardian: Once the deemed the “Athens of Africa”, education in Sierra Leone is simply not the same. The influx in the demand of education has caused overpopulation of schools, overcrowded classrooms, high student- teacher ratio, and an overwhelming amount of untrained, unskilled and unqualified teachers. While we have hope for a better future we can not really on schools alone. Education is any country’s most coveted assets. There is still a need for modern and innovative programming that addresses the country’s educational inequities, while also developing the youth to contribute to the reconstruction and growth of the country.
The EXCEL Education Program provides students with the opportunity to learn in a nurturing engaging, rewarding, supportive, and motivational environment where learning is approached step by step until the developing skill is fully mastered. Your child will be apart of a positive, progressive community of learners, valued and encouraged because of their potential for success. Students will be challenged to think critically and prepared to compete on a global playing field. Your child will be guided in learning process in classes with limited numbers by a highly qualified and motivated staff who put the needs of students first. The EXCEL Education Center is built and operated upon the principle – that every child is a unique individual who has the capacity to become a lifelong learner. But this cannot happen through our efforts alone. We believe that education is team focus; a collaborative effort must exist between families, schools, and EXCEL in order for your child to reach her/his academic peak.
