Our THINK-BUILD-CHANGE SALONE vision aims at engaging Sierra Leonean youth at home and abroad to actively participate in the nation’s development through volunteerism, and community service. As they transition to adulthood, our youth have a variety of needs including skills for economic self-reliance; citizenship skills; conflict resolution skills; teamwork; leadership; discipline and ethics; academic support, communication and social responsibility.

Goal : The Goal of the TBCS Program is to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the effective participation of Sierra Leonean youth in national development:

African Leadership Academy
African Leadership AcademyLast year the EXCEL Education Program successfully did recruitment for the African Leadership Academy (ALA), which seeks to transform Africa by developing and supporting future generations of African leaders. Opened in September 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa, African Leadership Academy brings together the most promising 16-19 year old leaders from all 54 African nations for an innovative two-year program designed to prepare each student for a lifetime of leadership on the continent. Two students from Sierra Leone, Ngozi Cole ( The Annie Walsh Secondary School) and Daniel Bonga ( The Prince Of Whales Secondary School) had they honor of being selected as a apart of the inaugural class.

“Money Matters for Kids” is financial literacy series that will help students get “smart” about money. Assisted by the EXCEL Education Program the series consists of a host of workshops on a variety of financial topics presented by UBA Financial Experts.
