Dear Parent/Guardian: Once the deemed the “Athens of Africa”, education in Sierra Leone is simply not the same. The influx in the demand of education has caused overpopulation of schools, overcrowded classrooms, high student- teacher ratio, and an overwhelming amount of untrained, unskilled and unqualified teachers. While we have hope for a better future we can not really on schools alone. Education is any country’s most coveted assets. There is still a need for modern and innovative programming that addresses the country’s educational inequities, while also developing the youth to contribute to the reconstruction and growth of the country. |
